Japan has one of the highest rates of social isolation in the world. People are lonely — but they lack natural spaces to connect, belong, and find meaning together.

At the same time, church planting in Japan faces three persistent barriers: finding good venues, building sustainable finances, and integrating naturally into local culture.

Over Coffee was built to address both — with one scalable model.

What We're Building

Coffee shop × Coworking × Community

Each location generates revenue, creates belonging, and serves as a natural community hub that supports church planting in its city. We opened our first location in Kichijoji, Tokyo in March 2025. This is just the beginning.

Why We're Sharing This Now

Over Coffee is entering a new stage.

Over the past year, we’ve been refining the business model, building community, and learning what it looks like to create spaces that are both financially sustainable and deeply impactful in Japan.
